Nikon D1 comparison test

All pictures below were taken outside with a Nikon D1, Nikon D1H and Nikon D1X. The lens in use was a AF-Nikkor 70-210mm./4-5,6, focused at 210 mm. (125 sec./ f/6). All cameras were set at ISO 200, auto white balance, normal tone compensation, programmed exposure, uncompressed RAW (NEF), converted to jpg.-file. Some back-focus on the D1 and D1X were noticeable, although the distance from camera to object was 9 meters.

In close-up the contrast of the Nikon D1H is the best. It is clear that the software of the D1H and D1X has been improved to produce better images.
